Do you have a habbit of Procrastination? Wanna Overcome this?

Procrastination, you know what it means.

Your alarm is ringing, and you chose to snooze it, procrastinate the work you wanna to be good at. Maybe your assignment is due, and you know you have to complete it. But instead of completing the assignment, you choose to scroll through social media or maybe scrolling reels. Maybe you planned your day, your important tasks, but instead of doing that, you get distracted by even a single notification.

Sounds familiar, Right?

And you never know, when this behaviour turns into your habit. And if not yet, then it can, if you continue to make the same mistakes. And then regret. As usual. Yup, an endless loop of procrastination.

The art of delaying every important task.

The art of doing everything other than what truly matters.

And watching you suffer in this loop,

Procrastination be like,

Watch me turn your mind into my home

…..

Okay, so we know the problem. But how to get rid of it?

Let’s get straight to the topic.

You really know what’s important for you. And you still Choose to delay that. Procrastination gives you pseudo pleasure. And later, it makes you feel regret for your choices, and you feel guilty because of the choices you made. And now this thing has become a ritual for you. You repeat the same things and maybe in same manner. Like you plan your day, divide your task accordingly to their importance and suddenly gets distracted and find yourself scrolling. And later, in evening, realisation hits you. The realisation that you’ve literally wasted your day, and as a result, you regret it, you feel guilty.

That’s a very common human behaviour. And then you decide to change yourself. Gonna make a great comeback. And what happens next day, you already know. Let’s not extend this, as you extend your deadlines.

So now, the question is, how can we actually overcome procrastination?

Have you noticed that I focused on the word ‘Choices’ or ‘choosed’ in this blog? That’s because you have to be aware that You’re the one who made these choices. And now that you’ve decided to overcome procrastination. Then, you can.

So be honest with yourself. And accept that you’ve made mistakes in past. And now you want to improve yourself. Not for others, but for yourself. And with this acceptance, you truly know that procrastination is a problem. And one have to get rid out of it as soon as he knew that he trapped in it. And that’s the reason, you’re here.

So now that you know, you have to execute tasks without getting distracted. Let’s take an example, you’ve to submit you assignment after 3 days.

So now what you’ve to do is, break down your assignment in small tasks. And start a small task and complete that once you decide, without having a single thought like I’ve full day to do this task. No you don’t have. You can’t take 5 hrs to complete a small task that can actually be finished in half an hour or maybe in one hour. It’s just that simple. I know executing this in starting phase will be a little challenging. But now that you’ve decided to improve yourself. You can.

So start completing small tasks, you can complete three or four task in a day, maintaining breaks in healthy way. Yeah taking breaks are also important. You’re not gonna be a champion by doing 30 to 40 pushups in a day, and then takes 4 days break saying rest time.

And if starting a small task feels like a task itself, then start it for five minutes. Most of the time starting phase becomes difficult. But once you begin, momentum follows.

And yeah, don’t try to be a perfectionist in every task. Your goal is to improve your present self than your past one. Finish small tasks. You’ll feel more productive than your past self. You’ll feel more confident.

And also remember this line, when you are doing very well, do not slow down thinking that. There’s no guarantee when time will change.

Wanna save your precious time? Here’s a quick summary.

So here’s a quick summary,

Break down your tasks into small tasks. And complete those small tasks. You know what’s importance of those tasks, so complete them wisely. Don’t be a perfectionist, just complete them. This will give you another level of confidence. You’ll feel more productive than before. Set clear deadlines for your task, and stick to it.

And also here’s a small tip. If you want to manage your day wisely, then use a notebook and pen, not some other applications and widgets at all.

Also a question arises, that what do when we get bored, right? Then listen, you’re a human, your body is supposed to move. So do exercises in your free time. Or you can also play outside with your friends or family. No need to stick to the phone, and start unnecessary scrolling.

If possible, then lower your screen time. I’ll help you to be more productive.

So yeah, that was it. And if this blog or any of my tips helped you, then please do let me know. I’ll be glad if this helps to add values in your life.  See yeah.
